School Development Project

Pauline Juliet partners with 26 local schools in central Uganda, including 2 universities. Through this union, schools are able to help facilitate our programs, and we are able to help them with resources, forming a complete partnership. Schools have hosted our events like PJ Girl Guide Week and helped us in many other ways, such as by helping us indicate students who are in need of scholarships and school materials. In return, we have provided reproductive mentorship in the form of sex education and menstrual health education. In terms of resources, we have supplied materials like chalk, markers, graph paper, notebooks, rulers, netballs, team jerseys, and cement for constructing buildings. We have supplied six years’ worth and hope to continue to supply these resources every year. We have also begun a small library among schools supplying teaching materials and one day hope to grow that library to be a community-wide, public library. Finally, beginning this year, we plan to select one school a year to benefit from a larger project. In 2019, we supplied a local school with solar panels. In 2021, we supplied two schools with water tanks. The goals of this project and all partnerships are twofold. First, we wish to make PJ projects community-led and have involvement from all sectors. Second, we know that helping schools ultimately helps students and the community of Kiboga at large.
